How do I apply the product?

Other products that may be pre-mixed often will dry and become useless, Luma Nocturna MMHG-5B is provided as a dry powdered pigment to allow the customer to find an adhesive product suitable for his application a wide range of uses from firearm sights to fishing lures.

Warning: this pigment is not compatible with water-based mediums, and all paint or glues used should be void of ultraviolet filters and opaque pigments.

Use a three layer application for optimum performance. If your pistol, shotgun or rifle has a clean gloss white paint on the sights, then you can leave it there and move on to the glow layer instructions.

  1. Remove all materials that will resist paint/epoxy from the site area, clean thoroughly and allow to dry.
  2. Add a base layer of bright reflective high-gloss paint, white works best. Inexpensive nail polish, appliance touch-up, and automotive paints can be used, but any solvent based or epoxy will work. Allow the paint to dry between every layer.
  3. Add a layer or more of MMHG-5B pigment mixed with paint or epoxy. Make sure the pigment load is from 25 to 40%, if mixing by eye use just a bit less than half of pigment to the adhesive or paint.
  4. Coat with a sealer layer of clear solvent-based paint without any UV filtering additives. Use a clear coat that is resistant to gun cleaning solutions.

Properly adhered, the glow properties should last over 10 years with only nominal degradation.

Soon our exclusive dealer will offer our product on-line from the GunBroker website, in addition to his retail sales directly from his brick and mortar store in Colorado.
